Welcome
Greetings from the Accomack-Northampton Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (ANAC-DST) and thank you for visiting our website,

ANAC-DST is located on the beautiful Eastern Shore of Virginia and we are a member of the sensational South Atlantic Region. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world.
Our Chapter was chartered on March 23, 1996 and I am humbled
serve as its 8th President.
Our National organization has a five point programmatic thrust
which includes: economic development, educational development,
international awareness and involvement, political awareness and
involvement and physical and mental health. ANAC embraces these thrust
areas by offering a variety of programs and activities aligned to them.
We offer several youth initiatives for boys and girls including:
the Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy (girls ages 11-14), the Delta
G.E.M.S. (Growing and Empowering Myself Successfully) (created to “catch
the dreams” of African American girls aged 15-18), Little G.E.M.S (girls
ages 5-9) and EMBODI (Empowering Males to Build Opportunities to Develop
Independence) Program (serving African American males ages 5-18).
Our youth programs also include the cultural celebration of
Little Miss (girls ages 5-8) and Miss Jabberwock for girls ages 9-12
(held biennially) to provide monetary assistance for future college
expenses.
Finally, we also offer scholarships each spring for local high
school students in Accomack and Northampton counties to assist them in
continuing their education.
ANAC partners, supports and collaborates with other
organizations of the community in support of several national programs
including: American Cancer Society (for the Relay for Life/Nandua each
September), the NAACP, the American Heart Association, St. Jude
Children’s Research Hospital and several others. Our Relay for Life
team, the Delta Divas, welcomes your monetary support and encouragement
as we walk to help continue with research and care of our community
members.
Please visit our site and also like our Facebook page to stay up
to date on news, information and activities of our chapter. Our
signature event, a Delta Winter Ball, is held the 1st Saturday in
December with a catered meal and dancing with proceeds benefitting our
local programs and scholarships. Please contact me at
anacdst96@gmail.com if you have
any questions about any our programs or activities.
NTHSPRT of Delta,
Karen Downing
